Overhead Line Equipment

At WOR-Rail we pride ourselves in being able to offer sales, examination, service and repair of overhead line specific products and related lifting equipment.



We cover all aspects of equipment for “Stringing Operations” including Bowthorpe bodies and Bowthorpe wedges to suit various diameters of copper, aluminium and steel conductors. Bowthrope bodies and Bowthorpe wedges are normally used in conjunction with a two leg wire rope or bridle sling and light weight lever hoist of suitable capacity from 750 kgs to 3000 kgs.

Alongside the Bowthorpe range we can also offer little mule clamps & come along clamps.

A variety of US federal alloy pin and british standard high tensile Bow and Dee shackles together with endless polyester round slings or flat webbing slings can be used to anchor a dynamometer or Tractel load link to ensure the correct pre tensioning of the catenary’s is achieved.

For new installations and major remedial works we can supply Tirfor wire rope winches from 800 kgs to 3200 kgs lifting capacity with ropes from 10 metres to 100 metres.

Various capacities of running out blocks and fibre rope block sets are available to suit your requirement, we also offer Simplex cable reel jacks and support spindles and cable laying rollers dependant on your application.

To compliment our OLE product range we also offer safety at height products including safety harnesses, shock absorbing lanyards, restraint lanyards, fall arrest blocks and retrieval systems.
